Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists cast preview what comes after Caitlin's accident

You’re not officially a Liar until you’re hit by a car. Or perhaps, in this case, you’re not officially a Perfectionist until you’re hit by a car. Either way, Caitlin is officially in the club after the last episode of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists ended with her lying on the road after a car clearly targeted her. And when this week’s episode picks up, “Caitlin is suffering from internal injuries,” star Sydney Park says. “She’s definitely feeling really bad after the accident, especially because she’s an athlete.”

But Caitlin’s biggest injuries won’t be physical. With her mom coming to be by her side in the hospital, prepare for some family drama. “Her mom comes in and that whole interaction is pretty heartbreaking,” Park continues. “Caitlin is a character that really suppresses her feelings so she’s very, very torn up by the fact that she found out her mother is cheating and that rips her heart apart, but she won’t let her guard down. She’s not going to let anybody see her that way. We see her very vulnerable in this week’s episode but after that, she’s trying to keep being the perfect daughter. She’s trying to push on, but eventually, the girl just breaks.”

One good thing about the accident, Park says, is that it helps bring Ava, Dylan, and Caitlin together after their big fight. In fact, they’re not the only ones trying to solve the mystery of who hit Caitlin. “Alison finally brings Mona kind of into the mix with the Perfectionists,” Janel Parrish says. “I’m just like looking around like, ‘Yeah, been there done that. Let me in, let me help you guys.” Because if anyone knows what it takes to solve a mystery, it’s Mona.

As for what Caitlin thinks of Mona, Park says, “Caitlin knows that she’s smart, but she’s strange. She notices Mona’s quirks.”

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
