NCIS: LA plans tribute to late star Miguel Ferrer

NCIS: Los Angeles will pay tribute to cast member Miguel Ferrer, who died Jan. 19, in an episode set to air March 5.

Ferrer, who had been on the show since 2012 as NCIS assistant director Owen Granger, will be honored with a version of “Knocking on Heaven’s Door,” played by Ferrer’s band, The Jenerators, and sung by the veteran actor. Additionally, the episode will end with a remembrance title card.

Ferrer died at age 61 following a battle with cancer. Throughout his 37-year acting career, he was known for roles on CHiPS, Twin Peaks, and Crossing Jordan, among others.

He will appear posthumously on NCIS: LA in the episode airing Feb. 19, which was filmed before his death.
