Game of Thrones releases battle photos from episode 3 of season 8

The great Battle of Winterfell is here. HBO released six photos from the upcoming third episode of the final season of Game of Thrones. Below are images that show what’s almost certainly just the opening moments of the super-sized episode where the Army of the Dead lay siege to the Stark ancestral home. The episode (the title has not yet been released) is 82 minutes, making it the longest GoT episode ever.

Check out the photos, which include Jaime Lannister and Brienne fighting side by side, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen on a distant hilltop overlooking the battle, Sansa and Arya Stark on the castle ramparts, and Tyrion Lannister and Varys in the crypts. Also read our new spoiler-free Q&A with Battle of Winterfell director Miguel Sapochnik where he discusses making the episode: “This is survival horror.”
