Game of Thrones : Ice meets fire with new HBO gear
The King of the North has met the Mother of Dragons.
Last week, HBO released new Game of Thrones products that honored the fierce Westerosi women, Ellaria Sand and Lady Olenna Tyrell (R.I.P.), who made memorable appearances in season 7’s second episode. This week, the network has added a new batch of merch to the HBO Shop that celebrates two beloved characters finally being in the same place.
This past Sunday’s episode, “The Queen’s Justice,” gave Thrones fans the meeting they’ve been eagerly awaiting for the past six seasons: Jon Snow journeyed to Dragonstone to confer with Daenerys Targaryen. Watching from high atop the castle as Jon arrives on the shore, Melisandre is interrupted by Varys, who taunts her for being “bashful.”
The Red Priestess does not let the visitors see her – not out of shyness, of course, but because she is not on great terms with Jon Snow, or Ser Davos. “I’ve done my part,” she tells Varys as she watches Jon climb the castle steps below. “I’ve brought ice and fire together.”
