Fortnite 's next Avengers crossover event calls down Thor's Stormbreaker axe

The next crossover between Fortnite and Avengers is getting an epic new weapon… the Thanos-killing kind.

Epic Games teased the upcoming Fortnite event on Tuesday with the reveal of Stormbreaker, Thor’s major weapon upgrade after Hela shattered his Mjolnir hammer in Thor: Ragnarok. It was powerful enough to mow down the Outrider army and nearly kill Thanos himself, except he didn’t aim for the head. Should of had a V8!

“Whatever it takes,” the caption reads, quoting something Captain America says in the trailers for Avengers: Endgame.

The first crossover between Fortnite and Avengers: Infinity War came in the form of a Battle Royale event that saw Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet drop down into the field. Once a player acquired the item, their character would transform with a Thanos skin and offensive abilities fitting of the Mad Titan. One would reason something similar will take place with this next crossover with Avengers: Endgame.

Epic Games also teased the presence of Captain America’s shield, though no other official descriptions have been shared.

The crossover event will drop into Fortnite on Thursday, the day before Avengers: Endgame premieres wide in theaters.
