American Idol finalist Walker Burroughs makes confession to celeb duet partner Jason Mraz

Walker Burroughs won’t hesitate no more, no more … he cannot wait … to tell Jason Mraz how excited he is to perform with him on American Idol.

Mraz appears on Sunday night’s episode — the first of two all-star duet episodes — to sing with two of the ABC competition’s top 20 contestants. And it’s a really special moment — as seen in EW’s exclusive sneak peek at the episode above — for 20-year-old Walker Burroughs, who first wow’ed judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan on the March 3 premiere when he performed “Love Like This” by Ben Rector.

“‘I’m Yours’ was the first song I ever performed,” Burroughs confesses to Mraz before breaking out his phone to show Mraz video of his 9-year-old self, donning a cape and playing guitar, singing the hit track.

“I’m super pumped about it because I have loved this guy since I was a kid,” Burroughs says. “Now it’s like this really awesome full circle that I’m literally singing with the person that wrote the song that I first performed. That’s super cool for me, so I’m really excited.”
