The 2022 edition of Elvis Week will mark the 45th anniversary of the passing of Elvis Presley.
The annual festivities are expected to draw tens of thousands of fans from across the U.S. and all over the world to the home of the King for a mix of concerts, panels, presentations and fan events.
Here are five things to know about this year's Elvis Week.
When is Elvis Week 2022?
This year's Elvis Week events kick off Aug. 9 and run through Aug. 17. The Candlelight Vigil — the emotional centerpiece of Elvis Week — is at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Gates of Graceland. For a full list of events, visit graceland.com/elvis-week-schedule-of-events.
Where are Elvis Week events held?
The bulk of official Elvis Week events will take place in and around the Graceland complex — including the Graceland Mansion, Graceland Soundstage, Elvis Presley’s Memphis and Elvis Week Music Pavilion. A number of events will also take place at The Guest House at Graceland, inside The Guest House Ballroom. Graceland is at 3734 Elvis Presley Blvd. The Guest House is at 3600 Elvis Presley Blvd.
Where can I get tickets to Elvis Week?
Tickets to individual events are available, as are a variety of ticket packages (for the Elvis Tribute Artist events) and the TCB Pass, which allows access to the Elvis Week Music Pavilion. For a complete list of events and tickets, go to ElvisWeek.com.
What will the weather be like during Elvis Week in Memphis?
Elvis Week takes place in the heart of August in Memphis, so — no surprise — it’s going to be hot. Temperatures for Aug. 9-17 are expected to hit daytime peaks in the mid to high 90s, with lows ranging from the mid to high 70s. If you plan on being out and about at Graceland (or anywhere else in Memphis that week), be sure to bring your sunscreen and drink plenty of water.
Can you watch Elvis Week events online?
For those who aren’t in Memphis or just want to enjoy the festivities from the comfort of their own home, this year there will be another Virtual Elvis Week. This online experience will include streams of live concert events and conversations with special guests. The livestream programming will feature Elvis in concert on the big screen, the All the King’s Men Jam Session and Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, as well as a full day of Conversations on Elvis. All the events will be streamed in HD and high-quality audio. All shows will also be available on demand for seven days following the performance.
There are three tiers of Virtual Elvis Week passes. The all-access Elvis Super Fan pass is $225, the Elvis Legacy Pass is $130, and the Elvis Tribute Artist Pass is also $130. To purchase, go to virtualelvisweek.com.
