Elton John, Quincy Jones, George Clinton Curating New Vinyl Subscription Service

Experience Vinyl lets artists recommend their favorite albums to subscribers and add personal commentary.

By Sheldon Pearce.

Experience Vinyl is a new vinyl record subscription service launching in April that will use artists as the curators, Billboard reports. Elton John, George Clinton, Quincy Jones, Talib Kweli, and Sean Lennon are among the artists that will curate for the service. Subscribers will get one of the artist’s favorite records along with the personal commentary, their top ten albums list, access to the service’s store, and various rewards.

Subscription to the service costs less than $30 a month, and it can run annually, trimonthly, or on a month-to-month basis. Experience Vinyl memberships will also feature invitations to concerts and eligibility for giveaways and trips. A portion of the sales from a subscription will go toward the artist’s chosen charity. The service’s first curator is Elton John, and a portion of his sales will be donated to The Elton John AIDS Foundation.
