Elton John Will Not Play Donald Trump's Inauguration, Despite Key Adviser's Claim

We won't be hearing Elton John playing when Donald Trump is sworn in.

"Elton is not performing at Trump's inauguration," the singer's rep confirms to ET, after a key member of the president-elect's transition team told the New York Post he would play.

"Elton John is going to be doing our concert on the mall for inauguration," Anthony Scaramucci, a member of Trump's presidential transition team told the publication, adding that the 70-year-old real estate developer would be the first-ever commander in chief with a "pro-gay rights" stance.

The English singer-songwriter performed at a Clinton rally in October, where, according to The Hollywood Reporter, he told the crowd, "We need a humanitarian in the White House, not a barbarian."

Trump will be inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2017.
