Elliott Wilson Claims Drake Has Banned Him From Toronto

Elliott Wilson’s working relationship with Drake may have changed, and not for the better. The new UPROXX Editorial Director appeared on another episode of The Bigger Picture, where he spoke about what happened in the aftermath of the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud. Wilson’s co-host, DJ Hed, made some observations regarding Wilson’s demeanor.

He pointed out that he is no longer rocking any OVO gear, as the previous episode found Elliott wearing a Scorpion jacket, and examined that Drizzy unfollowed the writer. When asked how he felt about the situation, Wilson described it as “painful,” before elaborating on how he found out.

“It’s funny because Drake is the kind of dude that, even if he doesn’t f**k with you, he still follows you. So, he’s not an unfollow kind of dude. [But] I saw somebody in my comments say, ‘How do you feel about Drake unfollowing you?’ I got my emotions about it… but look it’s hard… that’s my guy, I respect him,” the veteran journalist said.

As he continued, the seasoned vet disclosed that he was warned not to come to Toronto for a bit, effectively being blacklisted from Drake’s hometown. While he didn’t go into too much detail, Wilson mentioned some “calls” from some people of rank that let him know what time it was, saying, “I got the calls from OGs — I’m not really welcomed in Toronto right now. I grew up in NYC and you know not to go into other people’s projects. You might visit shorty but you ain’t got no business being over to those projects looking for no problems. So, I would not go to TO if me and Drake weren’t good. I just think it’s a tough time to manage these relationships with artists… You develop these connections with them, and then you have to manage these relationships and its ups and downs with that.”

DJ Hed shot back that he saw this fallout coming as he recalled conversations they had about Drake actually “not f**king with [Elliott] like that.” However, the journalist doubled down and explained that it was okay because most artists don’t necessarily like him.

If you missed it, Wilson took to X/Twitter in the days after Drizzy dropped “The Heart Part 6” and declared that Kendrick won the battle with “Not Like Us.”

Wilson, the man who is part of what some people describe as the “quintessential Drake interview” in 2020, explained how the DAMN emcee was victorious in his feud with Drake. “King Kendrick defeats Drake by giving him a taste of his own medicine. Victory lap,” he xweeted. Days before that, Wilson also implied that Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” was weak sauce.
