Ellie Kemper’s Bizarre Russian Gum Commercial
Ellie Kemper stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to promote her show, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. She also talked about the commercial work she’s been getting lately, especially in overseas markets. Colbert joked that he too has been pushing products in foreign markets, like his line of Korean man Spanx.
Ellie claimed that she just got back from shooting a commercial for a Russian gum company, and Colbert just happened to have a clip of the ad.
The commercial starts out with people enjoying themselves on a beach, when Ellie pops a piece of Pyud Gum into her mouth. Then things turn pretty dark. A laser shoots from her mouth and shrinks the other beachgoers into ants with Ukrainian flags on their backs. Ellie stomps on the ants before giving a thumbs-up to the camera.
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
