Elli Ingram Taps Mahalia For New Soul Number “Fool’s Gold”
Brighton-born singer-songwriter Elli Ingram has just released “Fool’s Gold”, her new single featuring Brit-R&B star Mahalia.
The track sees Elli proclaim her affection for a romantic partner whilst having a burning desire for this to be reciprocated. Her smoky vocals blend effortlessly with the glitchy neo-soul production—which, along with the subject matter, makes for a captivating listen. Mahalia graces the track with her one-of-a-kind tone and pen which get straight to the point. Simply put: this team-up made a lot of sense.
Alongside “Fool’s Gold”, Elli also announced that her sophomore album, Bad Behaviour, will be out on May 12 via her own PINC imprint, which stands for: Promoting Independent Newcomers. The forthcoming LP comes six years after her debut album, Love You Really, and is set to mark a new era for the artist.
Last week, Elli Ingram finished off her sold-out UK tour, Plan A, in London, and considering that she hadn’t been on the road in five years, that’s pretty impressive. It looks like it’s going to be an exciting year for the Brighton native. Take in “Fool’s Good” today.
