Ellen Pompeo scolds 'Bachelor' creator for insulting Kelly Ripa: 'We don't attack successful women on our network'
There’s bad blood over at ABC — and it’s all because of The Bachelor.
On Tuesday, Kelly Ripa announced during Live with Kelly and Ryan that the dating show franchise “disgusts” her, explaining, “I couldn't stand the idea of 25 exceptional women fighting over one ordinary fella, in my opinion.”
She added, “We are too special to be arguing over a guy.”
Ripa’s remarks got back to Chris Harrison, longtime host of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the latter of which just kicked off its 15th season on Monday night.
Look out #BachelorNation @KellyRipa is coming after you and your “disgusting” Monday night habit. https://t.co/pcAw0MtPOr

The show’s creator, Mike Fleiss, also weighed in, noting that Ripa’s show airs on ABC, the same network behind the Bachelor franchise.
Easy, @KellyRipa ... #TheBachelor franchise pays your salary!

Fleiss’s joke at Ripa’s expense rubbed another ABC star the wrong way. Ellen Pompeo, star of the long-running Grey’s Anatomy and one of the highest-paid actresses on TV, put Fleiss in his place with a tweet posted Thursday. In it, Pompeo scolded Fleiss for his jab at Ripa’s salary and called him out for insulting the daytime star and “taking credit” for her success.
She also dissed his reality TV series, adding the hashtag #BachelorSooooWhite.
Okay @fleissmeister... that’s some handle bro! Your show does NOT pay @KellyRipa salary. Also we don’t attack successful women on our network and men certainly cannot take credit for their success. Don’t get me started on your show cuz I’m a savage.... #bachelorsoooowhite

Pompeo’s fans piled on.
Also, while I’m here, *clears throat* THE ENTIRE BACHELOR FRANCHISE IS GROSS AND MISOGYNISTIC AND UNNECESSARILY PITS WOMEN AGAINST EACH OTHER.

Fleiss and Ripa have not yet responded to Pompeo’s tweet.
