Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi’s Latest Relationship Tips Takes Fans Into the Secrets of Their 15-Year Marriage

When the Ellen DeGeneres Show was still on air, viewers would catch glimpses of DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi‘s adorable relationship. Whether it was what they got each other for their birthdays, or what DeGeneres was planning to get her for their anniversary, fans would always be delighted to know more about the Hollywood power couple.
Since leaving the air in May of last year, however, fans have heard less and less about how they’re doing. Luckily, however, that all changed this week when DeGeneres posted a video on Instagram answering some of her followers’ random questions.

“19 years ago today Portia and I started dating, and what better way to celebrate than by answering some of your advice questions,” the former TV host wrote in the caption. “Happy anniversary, Portia.”
“Well, it seems like one of my Instagram followers have asked me some advice for some very personal questions so I thought I would read them aloud and give them the answers,” DeGeneres began. In one of the questions, a fan asked the the couple for the “number one most important tip for a healthy relationship.”
“Don’t lie, ever. About anything,” de Rossi answered. “Like, ‘Gee, does this sweater look good on me?’ ‘Not really, maybe go for something else.'”
“It’s important not to lie, not even tiny little white lies,” de Rossi continued. “[There’s] no such thing as a white lie,” DeGeneres then stated, adding that she’s always “blatantly honest.”
“I always know where I stand,” de Rossi added.
“Everyone does,” DeGeneres insisted. “Then you don’t trust people when they say things. It’s like, ‘Did they really like me? Did they really think this?’ Be honest.”
“Honesty in a relationship is really important,” she continued. “I think compliments [are too], you shouldn’t take people for granted. I tell she’s pretty all the time.”
Hearing this, de Rossi then asked DeGeneres, “Do I compliment you?” The TV personality then responded, “not enough.”
“You’re pretty!” de Rossi then told her, looking at each other head-on. “Thanks,” she responded. So hilarious!
“I love to see the way you look at each other!! Makes my day!!! 🥰,” one user commented. “I love this. Hopefully it will be a regular thing,” commented another. After this short clip, we too hope we can see these two more often. After all, there’s no better duo to take relationship advice from than two experts, right?
