Elkhart history museum opens 'Clues Through the Lens' an interactive photo exhibit

BRISTOL —The exhibit “Clues Through the Lens” continues through 2026 at the Elkhart County Historical Museum, 304 W. Vistula St.

The photo exhibit encourages visitors to participate actively in the process of studying history by investigating, evaluating and questioning sources as they view the photos, with much of the interpretive text phrased as questions.

Themes explored in the exhibit include values, perceptions and changing landscapes. The exhibit also outlines the history of photography and includes several interactive features.

In conjunction with the exhibit, museum staff will present a free public program, “Using Photographs to Study Local History,” at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9. No registration required.

Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
