Elizabeth Hurley's son is following in her footsteps.

The Gossip Girl actress has one child, Damian Hurley, with businessman Steve Bing. He was born in 2002 and has started to act and model just like his mother, even joining her on set for season 3 of The Royals.

Beyond acting, rumors swirled in 2021 around a potential reality show for the mother-son duo. However, Elizabeth quickly shut down the gossip on Instagram.

"Hear it from the horse's mouth, my son @damianhurley1 and I are most definitely NOT planning to shoot a 'Waltons- style reality TV show' at home," she wrote. "I mean!! Whoever the 'friend' (or bored journalist) is, who's leaking these fictional tidbits, you are ridiculous."

Elizabeth and Damian remain active on social media, frequently giving fans and followers a glimpse into their family life.

Despite their lives in the spotlight, Elizabeth told PEOPLE in 2017 that while she would "encourage anything he wants to do," she still wanted Damian to "study hard at school" and focus on being experienced in more than just Hollywood.

Here's everything to know about Elizabeth Hurley’s son, Damian Hurley.

Two years after ending her 13-year relationship with actor Hugh Grant, Elizabeth gave birth to her son, Damian Charles Hurley.

His father is businessman Steve Bing, whom Elizabeth dated for 18 months.

Elizabeth met Grant in 1987, and they dated for 13 years before splitting in 2000. When Damian was born in 2002, Elizabeth asked Grant to be his godfather.

In June 2021, Elizabeth appeared on the PEOPLE in the '90s podcast where she looked back on her relationship with Grant.

"We went through so much together, but I've been thinking, one of the most important things to keep good relations with your exes is to have a lot of respect for their current life," Elizabeth said.

"We haven't been romantically involved for 20 years even though we have such a strong friendship. But we're always very aware that there are other people in our lives," she continued. "There's partners, there's children ... You have to move with the times and be very respectful of the present, which we are."

Damian was raised in Gloucestershire with his mother and businessman Arun Nayar, who was Elizabeth's husband from 2007 to 2011.

When the Bedazzled actress got engaged to Australian cricket player Shane Warne in 2011, the family moved to Australia, where they lived part-time.

Damian seems just as comfortable in front of the camera as his famous mother. Before he started his modeling career, Damian was a budding actor, starring alongside his mother in The Royals.

He played Prince Hansel Von Liechtenstein in season 3 of the series and shared scenes with his mother, who called the experience "just fantastic."

"He’s been such a supporter of the show and indeed of me for his whole life and to have him actually be in costume, mic-ed up, doing his lines, I was proud," she told PEOPLE in 2017.

In 2019, Damian landed his first major modeling gig for the beauty brand Pat McGrath Labs. Damian’s bone structure, bright blue eyes and confidence in front of the camera were put on full display in the campaign video — and were reminiscent of his famous mom, who became an Estée Lauder spokeswoman in 1995.

Damian later signed with a famous agency. "I'm incredibly excited to be joining IMG Models," Damian told WWD in 2020. "To become part of such a wonderful family is truly fantastic. I can't wait to see what the future brings."

In 2017, Elizabeth told PEOPLE that she wanted her son to stick to his studies and focus on being a well-rounded person.

"I always say, you don't want to be a bore at dinner. You have to know geography, you need to know history," Elizabeth said. "And then of course, if he wants to be — and if he were talented enough and lucky enough to be a movie star, how nice that would be."

She added, "But to me that's the icing on the cake after you [become] a fully-rounded person.”

His father died in 2020

In June 2020, Bing was found dead at the base of an apartment building in Century City, California.

In a heartfelt tribute to him on Instagram, Elizabeth shared a gallery of photos of herself smiling alongside Damian's father.

"I am saddened beyond belief that my ex Steve is no longer with us. It is a terrible end," the actress wrote. "Our time together was very happy and I’m posting these pictures because although we went through some tough times, it’s the good, wonderful memories of a sweet, kind man that matter."

"In the past year we had become close again," Elizabeth continued. "We last spoke on our son’s 18th birthday. This is devastating news and I thank everyone for their lovely messages."

Damian also shared about the loss of his father on Instagram.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that has reached out following the devastating news," he wrote. "This is a very strange and confusing time and I’m immensely grateful to be surrounded by my phenomenal family and friends."

In 2011, when Damian was 9 years old, Elizabeth got engaged to Warne. The couple parted ways in 2013 but remained close for many years. In March 2022, Warne died suddenly from a heart attack at the age of 52.

“I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever. RIP my beloved Lionheart," the Austin Powers star captioned her tribute post.

Damian also expressed his devastation over Warne's death on Instagram.

"I'm still trying to wrap my head around this," Damian wrote in his caption alongside a carousel of photos of himself with Warne. "SW was a father figure to me for most of my formative years and was truly one the best men I've ever known. My heart is broken."

He and his mother have attended events together

In June 2022, the mother-son duo celebrated Elizabeth's 57th birthday in coordinating Versace looks. Earlier, in October 2021, the pair attended a joint Fendi-Versace fashion show that was an exciting milestone for Damian.

"I haven't been to a fashion show for a good few years, I guess nobody has really," Elizabeth told PEOPLE at the time. "He had never been to one. So I think for us to go to one together ... was really great."

His mom is starring in his first film

Damian and his mom are partnering up for his directorial debut, a thriller titled Strictly Confidential, premiering in theaters on April 5, 2024. Elizabeth plays a key role in the movie, which is about a woman who goes back to the Caribbean, where her best friend died, to help find out what may have led to her mysterious death.

As Damian told PEOPLE in February 2024, Elizabeth promised years ago that she'd participate in his first movie, and she kept her word.

"During the making of my first-ever short film back in 2010 when I was 8, my mother promised me she’d be in my first feature. True to her word, the minute Strictly Confidential was green-lit, my mother dropped everything and raced out to the Caribbean to help," he said.

Damian added, "We only had 18 days to shoot the whole film, so our twin-like telepathy was invaluable throughout."

In April 2024, Elizabeth told PEOPLE that she was aware that some people had been "making a lot of fuss" about a sex scene that was teased in the trailer for Strictly Confidential.

“I think there's a lot of factors making it a particularly interesting scene for people," she said, noting that those factors include her son writing and directing the scene.

She went on to say that while the movie itself is “quite out there and daring, there actually isn’t any nudity. Nobody’s exploited at all. We all felt comfortable doing it.”
