Elizabeth Chambers is making sure her kids see their father in a positive light.

In a sneak peek of Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise's episode 2 airing April 16, Chambers, 41, talks about shielding her two kids, Harper, 9, and Ford, 7, from controversies connected to their dad, her ex-husband Armie Hammer, 37.

"I'm fiercely protecting my children, which is why we're still here [living on the island]," Chambers tells costar Julian Foster on the reality show, which was filmed in early 2023.

Chambers adds of Harper and Ford, "They have — thank God — no idea about what is going on. My children are visibly happy. They should think that their dad is a superhero. And to be fair, he has been to them. He's been the best he can be."

The BIRD Bakery founder then tells the cameras, "I don't speak negatively about him in the press. I don't speak negatively about him to my children. Because nobody wants a daughter with daddy issues, and nobody wants a son with daddy issues."

"They should think their dad's a superhero," she adds. "And that's a beautiful thing that I will never, ever, ever diminish or take away."

Speaking with Foster, Chambers continues, "Whatever generational family trauma has occurred, it ends now. That is my life work. I'm just so ready to move on from things that I didn't create. But the only way to get through that is to keep going."

Chambers and Hammer married in 2010 and later announced their breakup in July 2020. After they split, Hammer was accused by multiple women of abuse, which he denied.

On the series premiere of Grand Cayman, Chambers reflected on their "very public divorce that was riddled with scandal," saying, "The life that we had planned for years basically shattered. That was a really painful period of time."

She said having her divorce play out "on a more public platform" was an "absolute hell" and she "wouldn't wish it upon anyone."

"A lot of the trauma that I have experienced in the last two years is behind me," said Chambers on the show. "And now I think I'm very much at a place where I'm ready for a fresh start on the island."

Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise airs Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on Freeform and can be streamed the next day on Hulu.
