"Deal or No Deal" made its return to network television on Monday night and a Muskego man was central to the season premiere.

But 25-year-old Dawson Addis wasn't in a studio looking to win money and beat the banker. No, Addis, who works in real estate, was on an island off the coast of Panama for "Deal or No Deal Island."

The spinoff blends some of the concepts of "Survivor" where there are social dynamics and strategy, paired with extreme competitions, along with the traditional game show.

Addis played a key role early on in the premiere and has advanced to next week's episode.

Here's what happened on the first episode of "Deal or No Deal Island" and how Addis performed.

How did Dawson Addis do on 'Deal or No Deal Island' episode 1?

The show opened with introductions before jumping right into a challenge.

And Addis was front and center.

He retrieved the $1 million briefcase during the opening first competition where briefcases were scattered in a swampy, muddy area of the island. The person with the highest priced briefcase would get immunity and the opportunity to select between the two contestants with the lowest numbers who would face the banker later on and potentially face elimination.

However, his $1 million briefcase was quickly stolen from Kim Mattina after her second-chance red briefcase allowed her to steal someone else's case. She knew that Addis had the $1 million case so it was an easy choice for her to take it.

Despite his case being stolen, he avoided the banker because Mattina told the group that she wouldn't put the person she stole from in jeopardy. As a result, 26-year-old Aron Barbell, an accountant from Champaign, Illinois, played deal or no deal with the banker after having the lowest number in his case.

If the person who has to face the banker makes a good deal as the briefcases are gradually revealed they survive but then they have to choose someone to go home.

Barbell kept taking chances and refusing the banker's deals. It paid off and he banked $600,000 for the group pot that the winner of the season will take home. But since he won this round, he had to send someone home. That was 31-year-old Brantzen Wong, who ruffled some feathers with his strategic game play early on when he helped Mattina retrieve her red briefcase.
