Some Christmas movies are just better loved than others.

Samba TV gathered data on U.S. viewership through smart TVs from Nov. 10 to Dec. 10 this year and shared it with USA TODAY. The numbers shed some light on viewers' favorite Christmas movies.

“Elf,” which was released in 2003, got 9 million household views in that period. “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989) got 7.9 million, followed by “Home Alone” (1990) at 7.1 million and “The Santa Clause” (1994) at 4.3 million.

Other fan favorites include “Four Christmases” (2008) at 3.5 million and the 2000 version of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” with 2.5 million views. Closing out the list of 15 most popular Christmas movies is “The Polar Express” (2004), with 1.1 million views.
