Elaine Hendrix Joins ‘Shot’; Chad Rook Fights In ‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’
Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll‘s Elaine Hendrix has signed on to the cast of the indie drama Shot. Directed by Jeremy Kagan, the film examines what happens to an innocent bystander and his fiancée when a teenager unintentionally shoots him, turning their lives upside down. The film, which stars Noah Wyle, was written by Anneke Campbell and William Lambom, and begins production this week in Los Angeles. Hendrix has also joined the political comedy Swing State where she will play a conservative commentator modeled on Ann Coulter.
In addition to portraying Ava on the first season of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, Hendrix also recently appeared on Amazon’s Transparent, among other roles. She’s repped by Innovative Artists and McKeon/Myones Entertainment.
Chad Rook, recently seen on a recurring basis as Clyde Mardon during the first season of the CW’s The Flash, has joined the cast of War For The Planet Of The Apes, where he’ll be playing one of the human soldiers under the command of Woody Harrelson’s character. The film follows the events of Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, which saw peace between mankind and apekind broken permanently and a final war looming. For now, plot details for War are being kept under wraps, but if it follows established continuity from the film series of the 1960s and 70s, it may see the ape Caesar become the revered Moses-like figure talked about in those earlier movies. Matt Reeves directs from a script co-written with Mark Bomback. Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping are producing with TSG Entertainment. Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver also produce.
Rook’s upcoming roles include the television pilot Home, and Devil Devil Devil. He’s repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and Webster Talent in Vancouver.
