El Rey Network Ups Skip Chaisson To Chief Creative Officer

El Rey Network has promoted veteran brand executive Skip Chaisson to chief creative officer. In his new role, Chaisson, who most recently served as SVP creative and on-air promotion, will be in charge of all creative and brand elements produced by the company for the network’s linear, digital and social feeds.

“Skip created El Rey’s on-air look and style, which is unlike any other network’s,” said Daniel Tibbets, president & general manager, El Rey Network, to whom Chaisson reports. “His sensibilities embrace the brand tenets and I am so pleased that he will be shepherding El Rey’s creative direction into the future.”

Chaisson worked on the launch of El Rey while at his production company Skip Film before joining the network in 2014. He is also responsible for the critically praised vignettes for El Rey’s lucha libre wrestling series Lucha Underground, and will continue as executive producer on the series.

Chaisson has over 400 movie and television campaigns as well as commercials, specials and series in his portfolio. He has designed main titles for television and film projects including The Good Wife, Numbers, Without A Trace and The Taking of Pelham 123, created teasers/trailers for films such as Gravity, Prometheus, Sin City 2, Wolverine, Machete, I Am Legend, The Fantastic Four and Pirates Of The Caribbean, and directed TV campaigns for Arrow, Vampire Diaries and Reign. Chaisson is also a recipient of numerous Key Art Awards, Golden Trailer Awards, PromaxBDA awards, and a Clio.

Prior to founding his own company, Chaisson worked as a director of special shoots and as editor of clutter-busting theatrical advertising for films including Mission Impossible 1 & 2, Braveheart, Titanic, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Gone In 60 Seconds.
