El Paso-area corn mazes, pumpkin patches set to open for fall season

Many El Paso families enjoy the fall tradition of going to a corn maze.

The El Paso and Las Cruces area has three main corn mazes of varying sizes that offer the traditional maze experience where kids can run around and get lost, as well as other fun family activities.

Most corn mazes choose a theme for their field each year and invite families and groups to come out for a fun day that often includes taking a ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin.

Anna Lyles, owner of the Mesilla Valley Maze at Lyles Farm, said they are ready for a good season.

"Our team has worked extra hard this year to get things ready for all of our friends, neighbors, and visitors. We've been doing this so long now, we have multiple generations of people visiting the maze, sharing their own childhood experiences with their kids," she said in an email.

The corn mazes will open later this month. Here is a closer look.
