Eddie Murphy Makes a Deal with an Elf for the 'Best Christmas Ever' in “Candy Cane Lane” Trailer

'Candy Cane Lane' is on Prime Video Dec. 1.

Eddie Murphy is ready to create some Christmas magic.

On Thursday, Prime Video debuted the first teaser trailer for Candy Cane Lane, starring Murphy, 62, as a Christmas-loving father named Chris who throws himself into winning his neighborhood's house-decorating contest.

"I can say confidently you've never seen a holiday movie like this," director Reginald Hudlin recently told PEOPLE. "We have jump scares, car chases and kung-fu fighting, plus all the holiday feels."

According to a synopsis, Murphy's character Chris is "on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest."

He makes a deal with a "mischievous elf" named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to better his chances at winning the competition when she casts a "magic spell that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life and wreaks havoc on the whole town."

In order to save Christmas, Chris needs to work with his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross) and their three kids "to break Pepper’s spell, battle deviously magical characters," the synopsis adds.

Candy Cane Lane also stars Thaddeus J. Mixson, Ken Marino, Nick Offerman, Robin Thede, Chris Redd, Genneya Walton, Madison Thomas, D.C. Young Fly, Riki Lindhome, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Lombardo Boyar, Danielle Pinnock and Timothy Simons.

"I can’t wait for the world to see Candy Cane Lane," Hudlin previously said in a statement. "I’ve wanted to make a Christmas movie my whole life, but I wanted to do something fresh and surprising."

The director added that Murphy "and this hilarious cast really bring the funny."

"It’s super Christmas-y, and it will hit you right in the feels," he said.

Candy Cane Lane is on Prime Video Dec. 1.
