Ed Sheeran’s NSFW prank he plays on Courteney Cox

On The Late Late Show With James Corden Monday, Ed Sheeran kicked off his week-long residency by divulging the hilarious and ongoing, not to mention NSFW, prank he’s been playing on his good friend Courteney Cox. For years, Sheeran has been staying at Cox’s Malibu home whenever he’s in L.A. Which means for years, Cox has been receiving an unexpected gift. Unexpected at first, anyway.

“She has this Alexa thing in her house, and she goes, ‘Isn’t this wonderful? This is my Alexa. I can just order whatever on this.’ So she walks out of the room, and — do you know what a gimp mask is?” Sheeran stopped to ask Corden, who assured Sheeran that he indeed knows what one is. “So she walks out of the room,” Sheeran continued, “And I go, ‘Alexa, order me a gimp mask.’”

According to Sheeran, Cox’s assistant was the first to find the unexpected order, but she was just the first of many.

“Now when I go back there, I order her another gimp mask. She has maybe, like, 12. I hide them in people’s bedrooms. So they’ll go in the drawer and find a leather S & M mask,” Sheeran said with a laugh. “She had two people come and look at her piano to try and buy it, two absolute strangers going into her house that I found out about. So I left a couple of masks on the piano.”

KYLIE MAR: Ed Sheeran kicked off his week-long residency on The Late Late Show with James Corden Monday by revealing the hilarious NSFW prank he's been playing on his good friend, Courteney Cox, who received an unexpected gift ordered from her own Alexa.

ED SHEERAN: Courteney's assistant found it in the-- she opened the-- she opened the post and she finds this mask and instantly goes, oh, I don't think I was meant to see that, and leaves it on Courteney's bed. And Courteney comes up and she's like, well, where did this come from here?

KYLIE MAR: Sheeran and Cox have been such close friends for years that he stays with her whenever he's in LA and even introduced Cox to her boyfriend, which may be why Sheeran feels free to do this.

ED SHEERAN: Now every time I go back there, I order her another gimp mask. And she has maybe like 12 and then I-- I hide them in people's bedrooms. So they'll go in a drawer and they'll just find this, like, leather SNM mask.

KYLIE MAR: Sheeran once said of staying with Cox, if you're staying at a friend's house, you should treat it like your own, which makes this really weird.

KYLIE MAR: And Cox doesn't seem that mad about it because on Sheeran's 30th birthday, she sent him this video.
