Ed Sheeran is putting the "live" in living rooms.

The "Thinking Out Loud" singer has announced a live LP of songs from his upcoming studio album Autumn Variations. Each song, he revealed, was recorded in a different fan's living room.

"So I did some surprise pop up gigs in fan's houses, secretly recording a live album of Autumn Variations where each song is recorded in a different fan's living room, but all of it was a total surprise," Sheeran wrote on Instagram.

After recording a track from Autumn Variations, the singer asked for a tour of fan Kari Conaway's house, and played "Wake Me Up" from his debut album +. "I went into her room I saw a piano," Sheeran wrote. "She asked if I could play and I said 'not really but I kinda play on wake me up', so here I am playing Wake Me Up, for all the Plus fans out there."

Sheeran also shouted out Conaway's hospitality, sharing that he was treated to "cats, friendship bracelets, and some fruit drinks" upon arrival.

Earlier this month, Sheeran posted a TikTok teasing his surprise appearances at fans' homes. "Surprise pop ups in fans houses to record something special, coming soon. Ps your cats were cool," the singer wrote in the caption.

Autumn Variations is Sheeran's first album to be released on his Gingerbread Man label, and the singer calls it the "most fan focused project I've done." He previously called on his fans to help create the music videos for the album on Instagram. To debut new material, Sheeran crashed weddings and serenaded fans at the merch stand outside his Santa Clara concert.
