Earlier this week, the official Instagram account for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex teased a collaboration between two of England's foremost gingers: Prince Harry and musician Ed Sheeran.
United For A Good Cause
The Sussexes are very involved with promoting World Mental Health Day, encouraging people to destigmatize mental health issues and reach out to their friends, families, and numerous organizations in order to get the help that they need. As it turns out, they got Ed Sheeran onboard to help as well.
In the funny video, Harry explains that he wants Sheeran to write a song to raise awareness, but Sheeran clearly misunderstood the assignment, explaining his own vision for the song.
"Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. People just don't understand what it's like for people like us...The jokes and snide comments, I feel like it's time we stood up and said 'we're not going to take this anymore, we're gingers and we're going to fight.'"
Raising Awareness On An Important Issue
All jokes aside, this push for awareness is incredibly important. The Sussexes are helping promote a massive new public health push that should help improve the lives of everyone in England.
"Today, during #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, @PublicHealthEngland — in partnership with the NHS — has launched #EveryMindMatters to help people take simple steps to look after their mental health, improve their mental wellbeing, and support others."
Harry and Meghan are really raising the bar in terms of their commitment to relief work, and they're enlisting plenty of famous faces to help as well. Especially Ed Sheeran.
