Eazy-E just received a birthday present that will stay with him, his fans, and his family forever, a new beautiful headstone.
The legendary rapper has been gone now for many years, but his burial site continues to draw fans and others who want to pay homage to the NWA legend.
So, his family commissioned a new headstone, complete with pictures and information about his life.
The unveiling took place Saturday at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Whittier, CA. Eazy's children, extended family and tons of fans came out to see it be made public. It takes the place of the old one which had minimal on it since the rapper's death.
The new version reads, "The Godfather of Gangsta Rap," and also includes the same line from his old tombstone, which is, "We loved him, but God loved him more."
Lastly, it says something everyone agrees with: "He Put Compton On The Map."
According to people in attendance Eazy's kids mentioned they wanted to do this for their dad and made it happen. Today, would have been the rapper's 55th birthday.
Fans posted pictures and videos from the event, and people left flowers and memorabilia around the site.
Eazy-E was part of the kings of rap NWA which included Ice Cube, and Dr. Dre. The widely successful movie "Straight Outta Compton" was made by the good doctor about their lives.
The rapper died in 1995 at the young age of 30 after suffering complications from AIDS.
