EastEnders star Jessie Wallace was arrested and given a caution over the weekend for allegedly attacking a police officer and being drunk and disorderly, The Mirror reports..

The actress, who is best known for her role as Kat Slater in the popular British soap, was arrested outside Flex nightclub in Bury St Edmunds during the early hours of Sunday morning. She had reportedly been in the area after watching Madness at Thetford Forest in nearby Brandon on June 18.

Video footage shows Wallace entangled with two police officers outside the nightclub, and then a third officer arrives and attempts to restrain her.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: “A 50-year-old woman was arrested early on Sunday morning in St Andrew’s Street, Bury St Edmunds, on suspicion of assaulting a police officer [and] drunk and disorderly conduct, and was released without charge after receiving a conditional caution.”

A conditional caution provides an opportunity to achieve an early positive response to low-level offending behaviour for those persons willing to admit their offending and to comply with certain conditions, the Government website states.

Back in March 2020, Wallace was reportedly suspended for two months over an “incident” on the EastEnders set, and was convicted of drink driving in 2003.
