East Jordan Portside Arts Fair names 2023 prize winners

EAST JORDAN — The East Jordan Portside Arts Fair has announced its 2023 prize winners.

Kim Scholl, an interior designer, was this year’s judge who chose the winning artists at the show on Aug. 5.

The 2-dimensional $500 winner was Kendall Hornsby, of Petoskey, for her abstract work in acrylics and mixed media. The 3-dimensional $500 winner was Jasmine Petrie, from East Jordan, for her weaving and textiles using natural dyes. Honorable Mention ribbons and a free booth were awarded to Erin Bonner, of Traverse City, for her variety of nature paintings and Chris Trabka, from Grand Rapids, for his stoneware and porcelain pottery.

The $200 winner in the student category was Olivia Payne, of Boyne City, for her paintings and the $100 winner was Jayde Fazio, from East Jordan, for her hand painted textile designs.

Prizes were provided by Charlevoix State Bank, East Jordan Plastics and the Portside Arts Fair.
