Early Week 14 fantasy pickups: Who can help you advance in playoffs?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, the Fantasy Football playoffs! But just because you made the postseason doesn’t mean your work is done. If you’re going to make a run to title town, you need to stay active on the waiver wire. With that in mind, we have three players to consider picking up for Week 14.

Marquise Goodwin, WR, San Francisco 49ers – 31 percent owned

Since Pierre Garcon was placed on IR in early November, Goodwin has averaged over 80 yards per contest. He was ultra-efficient with Jimmy Garoppolo under in Week 13, converting all 8 of his targets for 99 yards. Over the next two weeks, he’ll face two of the league’s most generous receiving defenses with matchups against the Texans and the Titans. Goodwin remains in the WR3 conversation.

Peyton Barber, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 4 percent

With Doug Martin (concussion) sidelined, Barber acted as the Bucs’ RB1, touching the ball 27 times for 143 scrimmage yards. A quick player with plus lateral agility, Barber received praise from Dirk Koetter for his ability to create after contact. If Martin were to continue to miss time, Barber would remain the team’s workhorse. Given Martin’s inefficiency, however, Barber appears to have earned more snaps.

Cameron Brate, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 54 percent

With Jameis Winston back under center, Brate’s fantasy viability has returned. Tied with Mike Evans for first in team targets, Brate caught 2 of 6 balls for 39 yards and two scores. In Week 14, he’ll face a Lions defense that has allowed the seventh most fantasy points to the tight end position. In leagues where he was dropped, make a move.
