Early-bird tickets on sale for Village Fest

As we head into the spring event season, party lovers also have an eye on the fall.

That's because early-bird tickets are now on sale for Village Fest, aka "the party of year" that returns Sept. 7 to the Kern County Museum.

Now through June 30, purchase your ticket at the special discounted price of $98.

"For $89, you can enjoy the same amount of food, beer, wine, music and fun as full price," Miranda Whitworth, media relations officer for Village Fest, said in a news release. "It’s a $40 discount and a great deal for this all-inclusive event."

Village Fest includes access to over 100 beers and 50 wines, along with foods from more than 30 local restaurants, and 15 bands on three stages across the museum grounds.

In its 28th year, the event will take a nod from the international arena for this year's theme celebrating the spirit of the Olympics. Attendees are encouraged to don your sportswear and prepare to party as a team.

"From tennis skirts, to track suits you can do a lot with this theme," Whitworth said. "We know Bakersfield loves to dress for the occasion, so don’t be afraid to show us your sporty side."

Tickets are available for $89 at eventbrite.com through June 30. Afterward, the cost rises to $129.

The event benefits CAREforKids.org, which funds the Children's Advocates Resource Endowment. Since 2005, it has granted $1.2 million to children's charities in Kern County.

"This is the best event our area sees all year, and with all proceeds staying right here in Kern County, why not grab a ticket for a great price?" said Bonnie Hosick, one of the founding and now leading members of the Village Fest Committee, in a news release. "We pour our hearts and souls into Village Fest every year and it’s all for local kids that need assistance the most."

Sponsorship opportunities are still available, and the only way to access VIP tickets. If you are interested in the VIP experience, Hosick said the more the merrier.
