Reports: Eagles LT Andre Dillard, a former 1st-round pick, out for season with biceps injury
Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Andre Dillard suffered a biceps injury in practice, beat reporter Derrick Gunn reported Thursday.
The injury requires surgery and will cost Dillard the entire season, according to multiple reports. The injury is another blow to the Eagles offensive line after Pro Bowl guard Brandon Brooks suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear in June.
Eagles forced to reshuffle line again
The Eagles selected Dillard in the first round of the 2019 draft. He took over for injured veteran left tackle Jason Peters midway through his rookie season in 2019 and started four games. He was expected to start and protect the blind side of quarterback Carson Wentz this season.
The Eagles re-signed Peters this summer to play guard after Brooks went down. The 38-year-old has made nine Pro Bowls at left tackle and started 11 straight seasons at the position for Philadelphia. He’s a potential candidate to slide over to his old position in Dillard’s stead.
Either way, the Eagles will be forced again to reshuffle their offensive line ahead of a season in which they expect to compete for the NFC East title.
