Eagle-Eyed Fans Noticed This Sweet Style Detail in Kate Middleton’s Cancer Announcement Video

Everyone gasped when news broke that Kate Middleton has cancer, and is undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Her video announcing the news was beyond heartbreaking, and while many were displeased with the fact that she was alone in the video (and Prince William wasn’t by her side), eagle-eyed fans also noticed some sweet details in the video.

Now, in the video posted on March 23, we can see Kate sitting on a bench, wearing a certain sweater she’s worn many times in the past few years. Eagle-eyed fans could take a quick look on KateMiddletonStyle.org and see that in the announcement video, Kate donned the Erdem ‘Lotus’ Striped Cashmere Sweater.

Kate has been seen rocking quite a few striped sweaters over the years, including this Erdem one. Per the outlet, she’s worn it a few times since 2021, including during her and William’s 2021 trip to St. Andrews University and during the 2023 Pub Meet With ‘Dadvengers.’ But the super-sweet time she wore this sweater was during the iconic photoshoot she had with her son Prince Louis on his fifth birthday photos.

We love that she wore a piece that probably gave her confidence and comfort as she gave her speech to the public.

Along with the sweater, many noticed the background of Kate’s video: there were yellow daffodils everywhere. Now, daffodils have been associated with cancer patients for a while now, and per UsMagazine, the flowers are used to symbolize “strength, resilience, courage, life and new beginnings.”
