E! presents The Wanted reality show, more docusoaps

E! unveils glitzy programming slate filled with boy bands, lady wrestlers, blinged-out babies

E! certainly knows its niche. At its upfront presentation today, the network that spawned a thousand Kardashian series will unveil a programming slate filled with shows united by three Gs: glitz, glamor, and gobs of cash.

Highlights include The Wanted Life, which documents the lives of One Direction rivals and Lindsay Lohan accessories The Wanted; Blinging Up Baby, a special designed to make normal people envy celebrity toddlers; a one-off peek behind the curtain of Hollywood’s “cults, cabals and underground clubs”; and 50 Hours with 50 Cent, which answers one of history’s age-old questions: “What is it like to be 50 Cent?”

E! will also announce a slew of projects still in development, including Flash — a Project Runway-esque reality competition for photographers — and scripted soaps from the likes of Gossip Girl‘s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and Smash‘s Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Comedy fans may be most interested in The Soup Investigates, a spin-off of E!’s acerbic clip show that will answer a series of burning pop-culture questions. (Example: “How DOES that rose get from the grower’s field to The Bachelor‘s hand just in time for the all important rose ceremony?”)
