E. Jean Carroll Hits Up NYC Bar After $83M Win Over Donald Trump

E. Jean Carroll wasted no time celebrating her win over former President Donald Trump for 2019 defamatory statements.

As we previously reported, the jury awarded E. Jean Carroll $83.3 million from Trump, who owed damages to  E. Jean Carroll for “injury to her reputation, humiliation and mental anguish in her public and private life."

He was previously found liable for sexually abusing Carroll in the 1990s.

The 77-year-old former President must pay Carroll $11 million to fund “a reputational repair campaign” and $7.3 million for the emotional harm caused by his public statements.

Trump is also ordered to pay Carroll $65 million in punitive damages for acting maliciously in his previous statements.

Following the huge win, the author hit up a New York City bar with MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell, 'Studio 360' host Kurt Andersen, and former 'SNL' producer Marci Klein.

Columnist Tara Palmeri, New York Times opinion writer Lydia Polgreen, and Washington Post contributor Sarah Ellison were also spotted at the bar.

Inside E. Jean Carroll's Celebratory Gathering

The event was reportedly for a media gathering, but that didn't stop Carroll from raising a glass and toasting her legal victory.

A bystander who was nearby at the time of the celebration told Page Six she “seemed jubilant” as another said, "she seemed delighted and vindicated. She was in awe [at the jury award] and victorious.”

Another told the outlet that Carroll "looked like a hero. It’s great to see women winning the day.”

Donald Trump was previously found liable for sexually abusing Carroll in a New York department store in the 1990s. The author revealed the incident in her memoir, ‘What Do We Need Men For?: A Modest Proposal .’

Trump claimed Carroll's accusations were just a hoax to boost sales of her memoir, calling her a "whack job."

Donald Trump Calls Verdict 'Absolutely Ridiculous'

Moments after the jury came to a verdict, the former President took to social media, claiming the ruling is "absolutely ridiculous," adding that he "fully disagrees with both verdicts, and will be appealing this whole Biden Directed Witch Hunt focused on me and the Republican Party."

He then stated that “our Legal System is out of control, and being used as a Political Weapon. They have taken away all First Amendment Rights. THIS IS NOT AMERICA!”

While on the stand, Carroll claimed that Trump “lied" and that it "shattered my reputation."

"I expected him to deny it, but to say it was consensual when it was not. But that’s what I expected him to say," the author said of Trump dismissing the accusations.

“The thing that really got me about this was, from the White House, he asked if anyone had any information about me, and if they did, to please come forward as soon as possible, because he wanted the world to know what’s really going on,” Carroll continued, adding, "and that people like me should pay dearly.”
