Paris and Dylan Brosnan have been selected as the Ambassadors for the 77th Annual Golden Globes, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Thursday night. The brothers are the first male ambassadors after the HFPA renamed the role, formerly known as Miss Golden Globe.

The sons of two-time Golden Globe nominee Pierce Brosnan and wife, filmmaker Keeley Shaye Brosnan, will be joining the likes of Isan Elba (daughter of Idris Elba), Francesca Eastwood (daughter of Clint Eastwood), Rumer Willis (daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore) and more in holding the title of Golden Globe Ambassador.

The Golden Globes Ambassador — or, rather, ambassadors — assist with the distribution of statues to the award winners and use the platform to raise awareness for a cause of their choosing. This year, the 22-year-old Dylan and 18-year-old model and activist Paris will be focusing their attention on childhood education and hunger. They’ll be working closely with the nonprofit organization and fashion brand FEED, which Paris previously partnered with to create a short film documenting the organization’s ongoing work in Sri Lanka.

In an announcement, Dylan Brosnan, who studies at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, said he and brother Paris are “proud” to honor their father’s legacy. “The biggest lesson our dad taught us is to ‘be kind,’ which was an essential factor in Paris and my decision to study filmmaking and our desire to tell important stories. Having this opportunity to turn the spotlight outward on kids experiencing hunger is a true privilege.”

HFPA President Lorenzo Soria said the organization was “proud” to be represented by Dylan and Paris Brosnan at this years’ awards ceremony. He continued,

“Dylan and Paris Brosnan have already achieved tremendous success in the fashion world and are following in their father’s footsteps in entertainment. We’re excited to see how they’ll use this platform to contribute their talents to elevate the important issue of childhood hunger.”

The 77th Annual Golden Globes, hosted by Ricky Gervais, will air live on NBC on Sunday, January 5, 2020.
