Dylan Dreyer celebrates son Calvin's 7th birthday

Dylan Dreyer is taking a minute to celebrate her son on his birthday.

On Sunday, the NBC News meteorologist, 42, posted a sweet tribute to her son Calvin "Cal" on his 7th birthday, sharing a series of photos on Instagram. In the pictures, Cal giggles and smiles in the snow, poses with his two brothers Russell "Rusty," 2, and Oliver "Ollie" George, 3, and sit beside a big pink cake.

"7 years ago, I became a mom! It was a wild night and now our little Cal is the leader of our pack. Happy Birthday buddy! You are so loved and bring us so much joy!!" Dylan wrote in her caption.

On Halloween, the Today co-host shared photos from her family's trick-or-treating outing in New York City on Instagram. Dressed as different Super Mario characters, the family of five enjoyed not only their own costumes but the many different Mario-universe characters they bumped into throughout their day.

While Dylan opted for Princess Peach, Brian took on Bowser, Rusty dressed as Toad, while big brothers Ollie and Cal were Mario and Luigi.

"Bit of a costume change with the family," she said, referencing her earlier look as artist Pink on the morning show, "and our extended Mario family too! Happy Halloween!!!"

Back in May, Dylan shared that her son Cal was diagnosed with celiac disease after suffering a stomach ulcer. In July, she chatted with PEOPLE and gave an update on her son's health.

Dreyer — who first opened up about her 6-year-old's diagnosis in an interview with PEOPLE in May — shared that thanks to a gluten-free diet, Calvin “has no more pains, no more headaches, no more stomach aches. He’s just like a regular kid.”

She added that her son is able to enjoy the “delicious food” she makes for him, though she noted that it can be a “pain” to prepare special celiac-friendly meals.

“I packed and made so much food for my mother-in-law to take with her so that he could spend the week up at his grandparents' house,” Dreyer explained. “Different dinners and lunches and breakfast just because it's a pain. But it's a pain for me, it's not a pain for him. He has no idea what I do to make his life totally normal, so he doesn't know any different.”
