'DWTS' pays homage to Britney Spears and fans aren't impressed

Monday’s Dancing with the Stars celebrated pop star Britney Spears with special Britney-themed evening, where the show paid tribute with some of the outfits worn by host Tyra Banks and the contestants, and by using plenty of classic Spears songs for the dances.

And while some viewers at home were loving the night’s theme and took to Twitter with their satisfaction, many were just too distracted by the music, after all of the songs were performed by the house band because it would presumably cost too much money for clearance rights. So viewers wondered things like, “How did DWTS plan an entire Britney Spears night and not secure a single song?”

KYLIE MAR: Some viewers at home were loving Britney night. But many were just too distracted by the music, with comments like, so it's Britney Night and to honor her y'all are going to play corny covers of her music? And how did "Dancing with the Stars" Plan an entire Britney Spears night and not secure a single song. These have been some awkward house band covers.

KYLIE MAR: And while it's definitely been a big year for Britney and her fans, as the #FreeBritney movement has resulted in the end of her father's conservatorship, Britney Knight on "Dancing with the Stars" definitely didn't have many fans saying gimme gimme more.
