'DWTS' champion is crowned and viewers are not happy

The Dancing With the Stars Season 29 winner was crowned Monday night and, to celebrate the finale, DWTS host Tyra Banks Zoomed into Yahoo Entertainment's Last Night Now, where she shared what happened when the cameras weren't rolling.

Season 29 came down to four finalists – Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe, rapper Nelly, MTV's Catfish host Nev Schulman, and actress Justina Machado. While Bristowe, Schulman and Machado each received a perfect score of 60 points, Machado took fourth place, Nelly took third, and Schulman took second.

Bristowe and her partner Artem Chigvintsev are the Season 29 champions!

While Bachelor Nation was celebrating the win, many viewers on social media were really upset about Schulman not winning. In fact, "Nev was robbed" was quickly trending on Twitter following the show.

We talked to Banks about the winning moment. The host told Yahoo, "You know what? I never got a word in. I just was watching them, and Kaitlyn was just like this," said Banks as she physically reenacted Bristowe's expression. Banks added, "Artem was tearing up and I just didn't really get a moment because it was all just emotion, emotion, emotion, honestly." Unfortunately, Banks did not get a chance to speak to any of the contestants following the show.

Banks shared, "You know what's so interesting? It's very challenging because I want to hug everybody. You want to, like, caress, and say, 'You did such a good job,' but there are COVID restrictions, and I follow them to the letter. I live with my mom and she's a senior citizen." Banks went on to say that, while she wanted to talk to everyone and celebrate with them, it just wasn't "like normal." Banks understandably stated, "It's just a different time right now."

Overall, the DWTS finale night was filled with great performances. As for which performance of the night was her favorite, Banks shared that she loved all of the freestyle dances the most.

Other than fun performances, Banks also had a lot of fun with multiple wardrobe changes throughout the night. However, viewers will be surprised to learn that all of her gowns were only planned one hour before the show went live. "I was not able to do a fitting this week," shared Banks.

As for whether or not Banks had a feeling Bristowe would be named the Season 29 champion, Banks admitted, "I had a feeling she would be a final finalist. I felt it. She's got that technical thing. She knows what she's doing."

Meanwhile, viewers on social media were really upset about Nev not winning. In fact, Nev was robbed was quickly trending on Twitter following the show.

Did you get a chance to speak with Nev after the show, or were they rushed off as well?

I did not get a chance to speak with anyone. You now what's so interesting, it's very challenging because I want to hug everybody. You want to like caress. You want to say you did such a good job. But there's COVID restrictions, and I followed them to the letter.

I live with my mom. She's a senior citizen. So I'm like-- [KISSING] Hi! Hi! You know? So it's not like normal.

You know, normally you would have like love. You'd even go to dinner with each other after, you know? So it's just a different time right now.

KYLIE MAR: Overall though, it was a fun at night full of amazing performances. Tyra, which performance was your favorite?

TYRA BANKS: Oh my gosh. You know, I loved Justina when they multiplied her. It was very Beyonce moment when she's like all over the place.

I loved the "Singing in the Rain" with Nev. And then Kaitlyn with (SINGING) diamonds are a girl's best friend. I just want to be on that swing with her.

And then Nelly, his swag. It was just-- it was like-- it was like a rap video meets ballroom dancing.

Those probably were my favorites. They're freestyle. You know, I just-- those freestyles are just special to me, you know? And it felt like--

KYLIE MAR: Right. You're like, your babies, you can't choose one favorite. You just love them all.

TYRA BANKS: You just love your babies for different reasons, you know? They're all my babies.

KYLIE MAR: Awesome. Thank you so much for joining us here at "Last Night Now." Congratulations on an amazing season. Can we expect to see you for Season 30?

TYRA BANKS: I don't know. We shall see. See as I'm 30 years old, you know, that might like-- it might work out.
