Dwight Yoakam Boards Sabyn Mayfield’s ‘Boomtown’
Dwight Yoakam has joined the cast of Sabyn Mayfield’s directorial debut Boomtown. He joins the previously announced Tyler Riggs, Boyd Holbrook (Narcos), Rachel Brosnahan (House Of Cards) and Jocelin Donahue (Knight Of Cups). The project is currently shooting in Los Angeles.
Boomtown follows one man’s journey, John “JT” Turner (Riggs) to Williston, ND, home of the modern-day Gold Rush. In an effort to make ends meet, he leaves his family behind to pursue a grueling, yet highly coveted, job in a now-booming oil industry. Along the way, he encounters the trials and tribulations shared by thousands of Americans every year as they stake their claim on the American Dream.
Yoakam is repped by WME and ROAR. The singer-turned-actor recently lent his voice to the upcoming Angry Birds Movie alongside Peter Dinklage and Jason Sudeikis.
