It’s a proud day in the Johnson household. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s 18-year-old daughter Simone has started training to be a WWE Superstar, a title her father, grandfather, and great-grandfather can all claim. If Simone follows through, she won’t just be following in her proud dad’s footsteps — she could become the first-ever fourth generation WWE Superstar. And can we just say: It’s so not surprising that a member of the Johnson family would be the first to achieve this feat.

Simone is well aware of the legacy she’s carrying on, and it’s part of what makes her so passionate about her training. “It means the world to me,” she said in a statement. “To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle, but to carry on that legacy.”

Simone’s grandfather and great-grandfather are both WWE Hall of Famers: Rocky Johnson and Peter Maivia. And of course, her father Dwayne was a WWE wrestler too — it’s where the nickname “The Rock” comes from. Simone’s coaches say she’s already blowing them away with her drive and talent, and we don’t doubt it.

“Simone knows she has a lot to learn,” head coach Matt Bloom said. “She’s hungry to learn and picks the coaches’ minds, and the veteran Superstars’, as well. She’s not going to rest on her laurels. It’s been a short time, but she’s been crushing it.”

Johnson posted about the start of her journey on Instagram too, writing: “To the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & said ‘this will be my life one day,’ this is for you. I’m humbled, grateful & ready to work. Let’s do this. @wwe @wwenxt.”
