Dwayne Johnson is sharing love for his father, the late WWE wrestler Rocky "Soulman" Johnson.

On Friday, Dwayne, 51, shared a throwback video of his father, who died at 75 in 2020, to Instagram. A young Dwayne can be seen looking on from the crowd as Rocky holds a title belt in the ring. The Black Adam actor shared that he was "just delivering flowers to heaven to my old man" with the post.

"My dad, along with 'Mr USA,' Tony Atlas made pro wrestling history by becoming the first ever Black Heavyweight Tag Team Champions for the @WWE," Dwayne wrote in a caption to the post. "He came up the hard way, and trail-blazed for all of us men of color - in any sport & level of entertainment. But it was also very important to him to pave the way for all men, any color - it didn’t matter."

"My regret in this life is that I never had a chance to say goodbye to him, because he died suddenly," Dwayne continued in the caption. "I regret not reconciling our complicated father/son s--- before I lost him. Raised me with tough fatherly love and an even tougher hand. The more I live life, the more grateful I am for it."

"See you down the road, Soulman 🕊️ 💐," he added.

In the years since Rocky's death, Dwayne has openly shared his regret that he and Rocky were not on speaking terms at the time of Rocky's death. Back in August, the actor posted a tribute to Rocky for what would have been his 79th birthday and subsequently fielded questions from his social media followers regarding the "biggest lesson my dad taught me."

"My dad taught me 'respect is given when it’s earned, so get out there and earn it,' " Johnson said in that video. "Actually, he would say ‘so get your a-- out there and earn it.’ He made sure I was at the gym, even at 5 years old he was kicking my a-- on the wrestling mats."

At that time, he also shared that Rocky's death taught him to settle conflicts with loved ones and noted that he and Rocky argued during Christmas in 2019, weeks prior to Rocky's death.

"I thought about him every day, and I was conflicted because it’s my old man and I kept saying, ‘Alright, I gotta call him. I gotta call him,’ and then he passed away suddenly," Dwayne said in a video he shared at the time. "I lost that shot. And now, of course, I gotta live with that every day because I think about him every day and I I think, ‘Damn, I should have made a different decision.’ So he inadvertently taught me that lesson."
