Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham Take On 'Black Superman' Idris Elba in Trailer for Hobbs & Shaw

It’s all family business.

A new trailer for the highly anticipated Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw dropped on Thursday, and it’s clear the boys are back!

Former rivals Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) are forced to team up after Statham’s sister Hattie (The Crown‘s Vanessa Kirby) steals a dangerous virus from Idris Elba’s villain Brixton, who seems lifted out of a superhero movie.

For those counting at home, this is Shaw’s second villainous sibling after his brother Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) served as the antagonist for Fast & Furious 6. Thankfully, the best Shaw of them all — their mom Magdalene Shaw, played by the legendary Helen Mirren — makes a return when Shaw visits her in prison and she tells him to take care of his sister.

The three go on the run as they try to fight off Elba, who is revealed to be an engineered human, genetically modified to be bulletproof and unstoppable. He also calls himself “black superman,” which is basically correct.

If this is starting to get a little fuzzy, the trailer thankfully introduces Eiza Gonzalez’s Madam M who breaks it all down.

“So you guys are being hunted by an army of mercenaries led by a genetically enhanced soldier? You’re crazy,” she says.

Hobbs eventually takes the crew back home, where we’re introduced to a family of brothers that are just as huge as him. Looks like this fight will have an epic conclusion.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw hits theaters on August 2.
