Dustin Johnson leads betting favorites for top prize at LIV Golf event at Bedminster

Palm Beach Gardens resident Dustin Johnson will enter this week's LIV Golf event at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster as the odds-on favorite to capture the $4-million dollar top prize.

Multiple national betting platforms, including DraftKings (+500) and Oddschecker (+550), favor Johnson for an individual first place finish.

LIV Golf's third event is set to be held from Friday-Sunday in New Jersey with afternoon shotgun starts starting at 2 p.m. ET.

Bryson Dechambeau (+950), Talor Gooch (+1200), Abraham Ancer (+1200) and Palm Beach County resident Louis Oosthuizen (+1200) round out the event's Top 5 odds for individual finishers.

Johnson (-220), Gooch (-115), Ancer (-105) and Oosthuizen (-105) are also the only golfers to receive better than even odds to place in the Top 10 this weekend.

Johnson enjoyed a strong showing at the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews in Scotland last week, shooting 13-under to tie for sixth overall. He was the highest finisher by any player from LIV Golf.

Dechambeau also closed the Open with momentum, firing 6-under in the final round to finish 12-under and tied for eighth overall.

Ancer finished just outside the Top 10, shooting a final round 7-under to close at 11-under and tied for 11th place.

Palm Beach County native Brooks Koepka (+1800) is also among the betting favorites to win at Bedminster. Koepka's younger brother Chase (+30000) is tied for the second-longest odds in the field.

The controversial Saudi-backed start-up league hosted its first two events in London and Portland, Oregon after prying many of the world's top players from the PGA Tour earlier this summer.
