Duff Goldman Served a 'Meat Cake' at His Wedding and You Have to See It to Believe It

Not surprisingly, pastry chef Duff Goldman had a variety of unique cakes at his January 19 wedding to Johnna Colbry, but perhaps the most eye-catching was the four-tier creation made entirely out of meat.

“The bottom tier is meatballs, the second tier is meatloaf, third tier is lamb shawarma, the top tier is scrapple,” the former Ace of Cakes star, 44, told PEOPLE ahead of his nuptials at the Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles. “Then it’s iced in mashed potatoes, with bacon roses and then we have a chocolate fountain that we put gravy in.”

On top of the meaty masterpiece were two adorable bride and groom cake toppers made out of hot dogs and sliced deli meat.

Though the cake was definitely more of Goldman’s dream, Colbry, 25, was “pretty stoked about it,” she said. Plus, the bride had her own passion project: a traditional white, six-tier red velvet and brown-butter buttercream cake.

“It’s piped to look like the lace on Johnna’s dress,” Goldman told Martha Stewart Weddings, which shared all the photos from their big day.

The pair also served both a pumpkin chocolate chip and carrot sheet cake, along with an elaborate underwater-themed set of cakes suspended from the ceiling made by Goldman’s team at Charm City Cakes.

If the guests couldn’t find something they liked among the cake choices, there was also a chocolate and vanilla sundae bar with toppings like cookies, brownie bites, almond butter sauce, and whipped cream, Martha Stewart Weddings reported.

The Buddy vs. Duff star even sent his friends and family home with a sweet treat. Each of the 250 guests were asked to bring two dozen cookies to the wedding and then they were all displayed on table with to-go boxes for guests to choose from.

“We were just trying to make it really festive and feel like a big family,” said Goldman.
