'Duck Dynasty' guys give solution to school shootings: 'Teach about love'

Phil, Jase and Al Robertson, of Duck Dynasty fame, joined Sean Hannity Monday night where they weighed in on how to stop school shootings. Since the shooting last year at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. that left 17 people dead, the push to arm teachers has gained momentum. Florida even recently passed a bill doing just that. But Jase Robertson believes there’s more to it than just letting teachers carry guns.

“You train a couple of teachers,” Robertson said, “and if you don’t have ‘em there we’ll bring ‘em in there. Don’t tell anybody who it is just like they do on planes now. Then you do the greatest thing: You teach about love. That’s a required subject.”

Of course, arming teachers is not an all-around popular idea. In fact, some Florida school districts are pushing back against the bill that was just passed there. But to Robertson, those talking about gun control are having the wrong conversation because guns, he feels, aren’t the problem in the first place. The problem, he told Hannity, is the human heart.

Hannity airs weeknights at 9 p.m. on Fox News Channel.
