Duchess Meghan responds to Pharrell Williams marriage praise: 'They don't make it easy'
Being royal isn't always easy, according to Meghan of Sussex.
At the European premiere of the live-action remake of "The Lion King" in London Sunday, Duchess Meghan – formerly Meghan Markle – confessed to "Happy" singer Pharrell Williams life as a royal isn't a walk in the park.
"It's so beautiful, your union," the music producer told Markle and her husband Prince Harry in video captured by ITV News. "Love is amazing. It's beautiful. Don't ever take that for granted, what it means in today's climate. I wanted to tell you it's so significant for so many of us. Seriously. It's significant. We cheer you guys on."
"Oh thank you," replied the duchess. "They don't make it easy."
It wasn't clear who "they" is, but Duchess Meghan has drawn criticism from British media for her attempts to shield her personal life from the public.

The actress-turned-duchess also reminisced with Billy Eichner at the premiere about their days as students at Northwestern University in Illinois.
Eichner took to social media to share details of his meeting with Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry.
"BTW they were both super down to earth and lovely and Meghan and I talked about our @NorthwesternU acting teachers (shout out to Mary Poole and David Downs!)," tweeted Eichner, who plays Timon in the upcoming film.
Eichner said he had butterflies leading up to the meet-and-greet.
"OMG Here I am completely freaking out to @Sethrogen about how I’m going to greet Prince Harry and Meghan I’M CRYING," he wrote on Twitter, adding a video of himself rehearsing his introduction.
The royal couple also chatted with the music industry's own royalty, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
