While the Duchess of Sussex is usually the queen of quiet luxury, from her creamy springtime dresses to her silky sets, the royal switched it up with her latest look, which was a more casual, dressed-down ensemble in support of her friend’s organization Alliance of Moms.

In photos posted to Instagram on Wednesday by Alliance of Moms cofounder Kelly McKee Zajfen, Duchess Meghan was giving classic Americana in a white tee and blue jeans—a look she accessorized with a few golden bangles on her arm.

On the duchess’s shirt, the phrase “Love Like a Mother” was written in a psychedelic red print, which popped out against the crisp material. This slogan is part of a new campaign from Alliance of Moms, which supports pregnant and parenting youth in Los Angeles’s foster care system.

Throughout the slideshow, Duchess Meghan and Zajfen were seen sitting in the grass in front of a stone wall as they smiled for photos. They were joined by pal Abigail Spencer, founder of County Line Florals in L.A. However, the besties also got a photo of just the two of them, included at the end of the short carousel.

In her caption, Zajfen wrote, “When we speak about the people in our lives who lift us up when you need it with undeniable force of pure love, I think of these two. You inspire me. You pick me up when I need it and you Love Like A Mother! ❤️🩹 Thank you for continuing to support the @allianceofmoms[.] For supporting this campaign and our youth. In doing so, you are supporting the mission to build bright futures for young parents who have experienced foster care.”

Just last month, Meghan and Zajfen went on a ski trip with another friend, Heather Dorak, which was documented on Instagram too. The duchess famously left the social media platform in 2018, and as a result is rarely seen on it. However, she quietly returned in March, when she created a profile for her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
