Duane “Keefe D” Davis’ Hearing Delayed Amid Allegation Of Threatening Witness

A bail hearing regarding the release of Duane “Keefe D” Davis” has been postponed after prosecutors claim threats were made against potential witnesses. The Associated Press reported the proceeding scheduled for Tuesday (Jan. 02) did not occur, allowing his defense attorneys to properly address the claims.

According to the report, the prosecutor’s allegations were filed last week, however, one of Davis’ attorneys, Robert Arroyo, informed AP that he did not see evidence that any witness had been named or threatened.

Claims against Davis detail an October jail call where his son allegedly shared information about a “green light” authorization. Davis is not accused of directly ordering anyone to harm another person or anyone associated with the case.

In (Davis’) world, a ‘green light’ is an authorization to kill,” prosecutors Marc DiGiacomo and Binu Palal explained to Clark County District Court Judge Carli Kierny in the court document. The filing detailed at least one person has been provided federal assistance to “change his residence.”

A new bail hearing has been set for Jan. 9, 2024 to evaluate  Davis’ request to post $100,000 bail and remain on house arrest until his trial.

Davis has pleaded not guilty and is set to stand trial in June. He is charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon and could face life in prison. He has remained jailed without bail since being arrested in September 2023. Davis is currently the only person ever officially charged in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.
