Dua Lipa has ventured into acting in films like Barbie and Argylle, and in both movies, John Cena was a co-star.

The “Dance the Night” singer shared scenes with the Peacemaker star in her acting debut in the Greta Gerwig-directed film, as they were both cast as merpeople.

In a new interview, the singer is opening up about sharing the screen with Cena telling Vanity Fair, “It seems like I can’t seem to do anything without him! He’s really my emotional support actor.”

She continued, “It was fab, and he’s amazing, and I absolutely love working with John. He’s such a great guy and so lovely.”

Dua Lipa said Gerwig “defied all odds” with the Barbie film and shared her thoughts on the director’s work.

“The thing is, Greta just really defied all odds,” she told the publication. “Nobody knew what to expect from the Barbie film and for it to be able to hit so many chords, from it being so fun and happy and funny, to then really hitting the heartstrings and touching on something really emotional and having you, especially as a woman, contemplate your place and what’s expected of you.”

Lipa is now following up her acting debut with Argylle, the spy action film directed by Matthew Vaughn and written by Jason Fuchs. The singer not only stars in the film as LaGrange but also provides music for the movie’s soundtrack.

Alongside Cena, Lipa shares credits with Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Ariana DeBose, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Rob Delaney and Jing Lusi.
